By the Artist duo Hasaj-Gelain

Starting in 2018, Bekim Hasaj and Valentina Gelain worked in different artistic-cultural directions under Black Box Genesis and from 2023, they also strengthened their collaboration as Artist Duo.

Their inspiration draws from the rural and natural environment, investigating possible manifestations within the land and interacting deeply with its physicality. Interacting and reflecting through entities to penetrate symbolism that leads back to our species, to realize our place in the whole.

The work aims to explore and represent the inner, intellectual and sensory sphere, coping with existentiality through introspection and self-awareness, venturing to depict indiscernibile ways to the planes of reality.

Latencies that become a network of universal connection and belonging, in their surreal-poetic-critical analysis find conformation and meaning in the surrounding.

The upcoming projects of the Artist Duo and Black Box Genesis carry forward the research between artistic research, practice, and cultural interaction with the community in the aforementioned settings and contexts.
